David Randal is a skilled author with an eye for detail and a talent for allusions. He effectively combines these to create intriguing and distinctive environments out of seemingly ordinary ones. Greg and the men at the shelter all have three-dimensional and well-portrayed personas with complex backstories and plausible motivations. Greg's character, in particular, stands out above the rest. It is a captivating redemption story—from a fallen, self-absorbed white-collar professional, to a convict, to a man on a profound altruistic mission to save a homeless shelter. It makes this novel an engaging must-read that will appeal to the hearts and consciences of readers everywhere. Fans of political and crime thrillers will appreciate this book.
